Last week's Training Rundown: 6/25-7/1
Happy Fourth of July! I hope you are spending the day with people that you love and something that you've looked forward to. While I've felt it difficult over these past few years to celebrate our country, I am still thankful for all that we have and optimistic that something brighter will come in the future. Have a GREAT day and celebrate safely!

Monday, 6/25: 6.56 miles @ 9:50 pace 433' elevation gain; 25 minutes of strength. It was HOT outside for these late afternoon miles on a mix of road/ trails.
Tuesday, 6/26: 5.37 miles with 1.12 mile warm-up @ 10:13 / 6 x 400 (1:40/ 1:43/ 1:41 / 1:42/ 1:40 / 1:38; 400R between sets) / 1.13 mile cool-down @ 9:54. I originally planned to do this on the High School track, but they have it completely under-construction! I ran to the Middle School track (it's all dirt) and was able to get this done there, but there were a few muddy spots so I'm even more excited to see where these will be once I'm able to get back on the real track. A few of my paces were around 6:24/ 6:25 min/mile pace! I was just testing out my fitness, so those were REALLY great surprises.
Wednesday, 6/27: 4.0 miles @ 12:08 1, 011' elevation gain. I decided to "run" up Mt. Werner (the ski mountain) and my pace was actually pretty good considering how much elevation I gained over just 4 miles! Woof. it was HARD, but so beautiful up there early. 30 minutes of strength training after work.
Thursday, 6/28: Rest Day / 20 minutes of swimming 0.5 mile total / 15 minutes of yoga. Swimming felt SO fantastic and it was nice to be cool in the pool when it was 90* outside. Used this yoga video to stretch out my feet/ calves and it was perfect. Love the jasyoga videos!
Friday, 6/29: 3 trail miles @ 11:19 min/mi 515' elevation gain early in the morning & 60 minutes of pilates at lunch
Saturday, 6/30: 3 trail miles easy with Stella (forgot to start/stop my watch when we stopped at all the water holes) with 748' UP
Sunday, 7/1: 2.66 mi warm-up run to the half marathon race start (parked my car at a parking lot farther away) @ 9:55 min/mi with some surges towards the end of the run/ 13.1 (or 12.8 miles according to my slightly inaccurate garmin) mi HALF MARATHON PR 1:49:15 8:20 min/mi 577' UP elevation gain (it was HILLY) / 3.0 mi cool down @ 10:36 min/mi. 18.46 miles for the day!
TOTAL WEEK MILEAGE --> 40.39 miles / 3, 284' elevation gain
