7 Things

I kicked off our weekend with a 4 mile walk with Stella. Amazingly, she held up really well and actually seemed to love it! I’m also equally excited that I’m finally able to put my hair up in a crazy-high messy bun. I know it’s not flattering, but it’s taken me almost a year to get it to this point!

Friday night we decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner at White Mountain Cider Co. I’ve been wanting to try their dinner for years now and it did NOT disappoint! It was so good. We ended up doing a few appetizers, a salad, and then a delicious dessert. The meat and cheese platter was incredible.

But honestly, nothing beat this desert. Warm Apple Cider Donuts, Vanilla Ice Cream, and Caramel Sauce. It. Was. Amazing. Kinda also wish that I had my own portion ; )

We then told Brady that we were going to try Vegan for a week and he was very un-impressed.

IMG_5458.JPG

We ended up watching The Game Changers Documentary on Netflix (I actually watched it twice because Alex was away at his parents Saturday night) and it really did change my entire perspective on our diet. I’m technically one ‘full day’ in (Saturday morning I realized that my ‘non-dairy creamer’ I had been using actually HAD dairy in it?!?) and already feel like I have way more energy throughout the day and my sleep has felt better too. I had this pizza Saturday night and it was honestly SO good. Like, maybe better than other non-vegan frozen pizzas I’ve had?!

My mom is also away at a Wedding this weekend in Austin, so I offered to check in on her cat (my old cat!). She still remembers me. Gosh, aren’t animals just the best mood picker-uppers?!

And started my new tradition of beginning my mornings with yoga, meditation, and journaling on Saturday. I really love this new habit since I’ve still got two more weeks off of running! While I definitely miss lacing up and getting sweaty, I’m also really enjoying just trying new things and having more flexibility in my day.

I’ve got the day off school because it’s Veteran’s Day (THANK YOU to all of our Veterans out there for sacrificing their lives for us!) and the weather is supposed to turn to snow/ice later so I’m getting as much school work done as I can and then hoping to do more meal prep for the week ahead.

Who was crazy inspired by watching the NYC Marathon yesterday?!? Life goal is to qualify for it someday with a fast half marathon time!

I sadly had to work and study and take an exam this weekend so don’t have many photos for you today!

I also really loved the extra hour yesterday- I was able to squeeze in a quick 15 minute ab class with my one week Pure Barre free trail subscription!

Salmon Salad on Friday night!

IMG_5407.jpeg

So much studying and resting from my cold that I had a crazy nightmare ABOUT topics that are on my exam. Ha. Total nerd 🤓

Anyone else inspired by watching the NYC Marathon yesterday?!?

Favorite part of daylight savings?

Anyone else get crazy dreams when they take NyQuil?

My race was brutal yesterday. Winds, rain, muddy, so many hills. I finished, but think I’m going to step back from posting so much on Instagram and Twitter to remember why I run again and take the remainder of the year with no actual training. I think it’s important to recognize when going hard is necessary and also recognize when cutting back is necessary.

IMG_5342.jpeg

Flashback to Friday where I did a whole lot of studying.

IMG_5333.jpeg

I made some homemade meatballs from Run Fast Eat Slow and they were delicious.

IMG_5326.jpeg

Watched Hocus Pocus and wow was that movie one of my favorites growing up or what?!? I still can remember so many lines from it.

Two shakeout miles and a walk with Stella to kick off our Saturday

IMG_5330.jpeg

Finally got around to switching out my clothes from Summer to Winter. I also organized my scarfs which made me feel SUPER productive.

IMG_5335.jpeg

Brady also created a nice sleeping bag out of my Big Agnes layers. He is so smart.

Three Things you did this weekend?!?

Anyone else really enjoy organizing their closet?

It rained like crazy on Sunday here in New England. What’s the weather like where you are?

7 Things: This Is Pretty Great, I Like These Stats, and It Was Really Good.

We did A LOT of puzzling this weekend. This one is surprisingly hard despite it having ‘only’ 500 pieces?!? We got a package of National Park puzzles (gotta love TJ Maxx) and are starting with the one of Yosemite! Can’t wait until we get it finished.

IMG_5253.JPG

I tried this creamer this weekend and it was pretty great. I haven’t tried any other types of Oat Milks yet, but know that they are ‘all the rage’, so I’m sure I’ll have to branch out and try other varieties now. It didn’t taste overly like Snickerdoodle, but it was still delicious.

IMG_5258.JPG

Also tried this with barbecue chicken and brussell sprouts on Friday night. it was really tasty and super good ingredients for taking 90 seconds in the microwave!

IMG_5260.JPG

Saturday we raked A LOT of leaves and we didn’t even get halfway through our yard. Ha. At least it’s good cross training right?!

IMG_5264.JPG

Watched the new Braking Bad movie on Netflix, El Camino, and it was REALLY good. Like I’m still thinking about it over 24 hours later and still think it’s really good. Anyone else watch it yet?

IMG_5266.JPG

Saw a lot of this view this weekend too.

IMG_5271.JPG

Made Slow Cooker Lentil and Beef Minestrone on Sunday. It was so good and super easy since I worked from 10:30am-6:30pm! Recipe from Run Fast Cook Fast Eat Slow.

IMG_5272.JPG

Also, I really like these stats.

-Anyone else a fan of Oat Milk?

-Breaking Bad? What did you think of the movie?

-How many puzzle pieces are too many puzzle pieces?

7 Things

I kicked off the weekend with a whole ‘lotta carbs —> AKA giant blueberry pancakes.

IMG_5092.JPG

Alex went to Vermont to spend time with his parents while his dad is in the hospital (he is doing better, but could still use your good thoughts), so that meant it was just a Stella and me weekend (along with the cats) SO we went on a hike Friday. The foliage right now is just the best.

IMG_5105.JPG

I worked a lot this weekend and in my “free time” AKA early in the morning and late afternoon/evening I did some running and studying. Brady decided to do the weekend right and just relaxed.

IMG_5159.JPG

I finished both of my school books and am so excited to get back to ‘reading for pleasure’ books. I will definitely also be re-reading How Bad Do You Want It by Matt Fitzgerald to gear-up for my marathon next weekend! I also have been recently obsessed with avocado toast and hot sauce on my eggs for either breakfast or lunch. SO good.

IMG_5186.JPG

I’ve also really been loving taking Stella for a cool-down walk post run. I put some Chocolate Almond Milk in my Yeti Tumbler to feel all fancy and also got this super cute fleece tech headband from Buff to test out (as being a Bib Rave Pro!). I’ll report back when I’ve been able to test it out on at least 10 runs.

IMG_5145.JPG

I’m also really excited to see these stats on my Garmin. Time to soak up all the taper-goodness to put this into fruition!

IMG_5174.JPG

I’m also really loving this creamer lately! I’ve missed having good quality Almond Milk creamer for the past few months!

Favorite kind of creamer in your coffee?

How was your weekend?

Anyone else loving the Fall Foliage right now?!? It’s SO beautiful here!
