Checking In On Your Monthly Goals
I cannot believe that tomorrow is the LAST DAY OF OCTOBER?!? What? This month went by so quickly (why does October always do that?) and I’m already looking forward to Thanksgiving! I also cannot believe that we’re in the last few weeks of 2018 and I’ve somehow miraculously kept track of all of the my goals this year (…thus far anyways)! I’ve got my my second-to-last speedwork this morning (this week and next are shorter intervals since we’re now officially in the “taper”?!?) with 3 x 1 mile @ 10k pace and then 2 x 3/4 mile at 5k pace. I’m also nursing a bit of a cold/ sinus thing so taking all the precautions so I can get over my cold before the race (and traveling to Vegas too…). BUT the bonus of having a cold is that I don’t want caffeine (which is good because I’m trying to cut-out all caffeine until race day to get an extra boost from my caffeinated gels/ tailwind)!
Let’s check back on October’s goals first, shall we?
Read 1 book - CHECK
Journal 3x a week - CHECK
Camp/backpack 1x - CHECK
Purchase only needs not wants- partial check - the only thing that I need purchase were my clothes for the engagement shoot but otherwise I did really well!
Visit 1 new National Park- CHECK
Run a half marathon in a new state - CHECK
Yoga 1x a week- nope.
Hold Plank for 4 minutes - I made it to 2:35 without stops so that’s certainly progress!
Do/Try/ Create One New Thing Each Week- nope. I did the last two weeks of the month, but not so much the first two weeks!
Overall, I’m pretty happy with my goals for October. I did set some lofty ones for myself, so it’s OK that I didn’t hit them all. Next month!
