Trail Thursday- Mount Pierce
HAPPY FRIDAY EVE! There is hardly anything I love more than hiking in the White Mountains in NH (especially conquering a 4,000' mountain) and these photos from Mount Pierce remind me why. The 360* views are absolutely amazing and every time I get to the top of a mountain I'm reminded why I struggle up those trails and rock scrambles. I actually took my mom on this hike (hi Mom!) and she did it (as her first 4,000')! It does include some rock scrambles, so do be aware of that and also know what the trial conditions will be like. If it's been rainy --> the trails will be muddy and difficult to pass so be prepared! Start early (trailhead begins just north past Crawford Notch Visitor Center) and prepare with extra layers as the weather conditions (especially towards the summit can change dramatically). Also try to do this hike during the week because it's not as *much* fun on the weekend when everyone travels to the trailhead to get some peak-bagging done.
Have you ever hiked a 4,000' or HIGHER mountain? What's your favorite trail? Where is it located?
