Travel Thursday- Where I WANT to go Abroad Edition #2!

Friday eve! I'm traveling back home from Denver today after a very long work-week and cannot wait to cuddle my kitties (...and Alex and Stella of course...)!! I'm trying SO hard to finish The Underground Railroad that I started back in November 2017, but those last 50 pages are definitely not easy to get through when I'm only ready a page or two before falling asleep at night. I really wish I just had ample time to relax, drink coffee, and read....Oh how wonderful that sounds right about now! Last edition of Travel Thursdays of listing out the places that are definitely on my bucket list (well there are A LOT more places I really want to visit, but I'm sure you'd rather hear about my travel recaps rather than where I haven't gone yet). So, this one is also abroad and it is to PERU! Machu Picchu is #1 on my list of places that I want to see.

3. Los Jardines de Mandor

4. Gocta Cataracts (aka. Gocta Falls)

5. Paracas National Reserve and Ballestas Islands....penguins in the wild. 'enough said!

Travel Thursday- Where I WANT To Go Round 3 ABROAD EDITION

You may be counting this as Friday-eve, but since I have to teach skiing both days this weekend it's more like Monday to me...ugh. Oh well! The end is in sight and I have next weekend completely off! YAY! We are traveling to Denver next Monday-Thursday for the Outdoor Retailer Show, so my running schedule will be a bit funky. I have an easy 6 miles on the schedule today and an 11-hour workday ahead of me...I can't wait to have a free night off again! I hope you have a wonderful day and get to get outside even just for a few minutes...

OK, so far we have Big Sur & Seattle on my travel bucketlist, but I have also been dying to travel abroad! I've only ever made it to Italy, so there are so many fantastic places that I want to visit, but Paris is definitely at the top of my list (helllooo RunDisney Disneyland Paris ! #bucketlistrace). I think my fascination with Paris began when I started taking French lessons way back in 7th grade. We would read books and look at photos of Paris and from then on, I was HOOKED!

Travel Thursday-Where I WANT to go Round 2- Big Sur!

Happy Thursday! Finally we are ALMOST to Friday! Today is another 11-hour workday for me, but I only have one more then I get a full week off from teaching skiing (yay)! I always feel like January drags on, but that each winter goes by way too fast here (anyone else feel that way?!). I've been on a kick watching This Is Us on my treadmill runs (which is probably what I'll be doing this morning unless the snow on the road improves...). I have 7 miles on the schedule to kickstart my day. What is on your schedule today?!

I wanted to share with you 5 places that I REALLY want to visit along Big Sur. Yes, their marathon is definitely also on my to-do list (hopefully will do it when I qualify for Boston so I can do the Boston-to-Big-Sur Challenge). I'm not sure whether it's because I haven't traveled much along the West Coast or because I grew up so far away, but anything along the West Coast really draws me in and I just want to see it all. Not only is it intriguing, but Big Sur also boasts A TON of state parks (with so many incredible views)! 

-Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park / McWay Falls

-Andrew Molera State Park

-Pfeiffer Beach - this beach and views look absolutely amazing. I just want to bring a book there and stay all day!

-Sand Dollar Beach- This would be amazing to find a few sand dollars along the way (they were my FAVORITE to search for when we went to the beach growing up)

-Garrapata State Park- I've always wanted to see this particular view of Garrapata State Park! Definitely to DIE for!

Travel Thursday- Where I WANT to go!

Happy Thursday! Switching it up on Travel Thursday for the month of January because this month seems to drag ON and I love to daydream about all the fantastic places that I want visit. 1 more day until the weekend. Yes! This weekend is also the first where I don't have to teach skiing, so that is definitely a win in my books. Not sure exactly what we will be doing, but hopefully getting out of town (even if just for the day)...I need a change of scenery and something to get me out of the post-Holiday blues funk. 

On my bucket-list to visit: Seattle

I know...I know... you are probably thinking Seattle?!? Maybe it's my serious love for Greys Anatomy or maybe it's because it is the farthest possible distance from where I grew up (Maine), but I have ALWAYS wanted to go to the Pacific Northwest! 

I really want to visit Pike Place Market and see all of the amazing fresh foods available. It looks so incredible to me and being able to travel to get something fresh to cook that night is so appealing to me. 

The space needle is also at the top of my list, as it is both iconic and will give you some of the best views of the city (and Pacific Ocean)!

The gum wall doesn't look all that amazing, but if I'm going to Seattle then I feel like I should probably visit this attraction.

Seattle Great Wheel is also something that I've seen many photos of, but I believe seeing it in person would be absolutely incredible. 

Last, but not least is taking the Seattle to Victoria ferry! I've been on a few ferries and each time the experience has been amazing and I'm sure this one would not disappoint.

Travel Thursday Goes Abroad- Cinque Terre

Good Morning! I wanted to take you all abroad today to the coast of Italy and Cinque Terre! I studied aboard for a summer in Italy and we were able to go to Cinque Terre (the five Islands)- it was absolutely amazing. I can't remember which of the islands we visited, however the beaches were so beautiful and we were able to do a hike that wove around one of the islands and rock structures. We visited in July, so the temperatures were pretty warm (but cooler by the coast) and it was fairly busy. Of course being a group of American college students we didn't exactly fit in....

If I had more time I would love to go back and spend more time on the islands. If you haven't been, I would highly recommend going! Also take time to explore- the hike that we did was stunning and I got so many wonderful photos (that do NOT do it justice). Adding re-visiting it to my bucket-list (along with London, Iceland, Greece, Asia....hmmmm I've got A LOT of traveling to do!).
