Happy Monday! I’m all over the place with starting a full-time work schedule. Happy. Sad. Nervous. Excited. A bit overwhelmed. I know it will get better, but still feeling all the feels. At least I had a beautiful 10 mile run yesterday.

IMG_9400.jpeg

Followed it up with an 8 mile bike ride with my Mom and then some Hot Cocoa.

IMG_9402.jpeg

This is my latest obsession post-run. Lots of protein and tastes delicious.

IMG_9401.jpeg

Also ran on our treadmill Saturday afternoon and obsessed with the iFit feature where we can run on various trails around the world. I did the second half of the Great Smoky Mountains Half Marathon with Sally McRae and it made me miss racing even more 😭

IMG_9398.jpeg

Also obsessed with our Home Gym. It’s my favorite space in our house.

IMG_9396.jpeg

Our lawn was a fun cleanup Saturday. We finally found some green grass after raking up all those leaves. Thankful for my mom and her husband who came over to help us out.

IMG_9395.jpeg

I missed this furry one so much last week. I think he knew I missed him…

Anyone else have a love-hate relationship with leaf pick-up?

Happy Monday! We got an amazing delivery to kick-off the weekend 🤩

IMG_9321.jpeg

Our new Nordictrack came in and it took us a few hours to get it inside the house and set it up (the delivery drivers had to drop it outside the home because of COVID). It wasn’t too bad (we got it all inside before it started pouring rain) to carry everything in with two of us (thankfully Alex is very strong) and put it together. We also celebrated our 6th date-aversary with dinner take-out from our favorite little Italian restaurant-Vitos. I’m really just a huge fan because of their cannolis (although everything is honestly spectacular).

IMG_9323.jpeg

And yes, we watched Jeopardy while eating dinner. Normally we eat at the table, but splurged and watched TV with our dinner. I got a new iPhone Saturday (11 Pro) and wow, are the photos just amazing. I really feel like a professional photographer when I snap a photo in portrait mode 😂

IMG_9330.jpeg

I’m almost finished with Running Home by Katie Arnold and wow, does this book really want me to run another ultramarathon. How she describes the longer distance races is exactly how I feel.

IMG_9317.jpeg

Got our fill of Apple Cider donuts on Thursday (we went to the Apple Orchard again with my Grandmother this time) and I’m just really wishing October will never end.

IMG_9318.jpeg

They also taste really good after a long-run (FYI 🙃). We got out Sunday morning for a hike out to Rattlesnake Pool near Evans Notch. We didn’t see any rattlesnakes (thankfully), but this gorge was amazing.

Finished the weekend with my usual Sunday afternoon 8-mile loop and Core Strength with the Peloton App (just finished the 4-week core challenge!). It’s just a sea of orange leaves around here and I love it. I start my new job today, so feeling excited/ nervous/ ready to get through the week-long orientation and into a groove of 12-hour shifts.

Happy Monday! I’m on week 2 of my fun-employment and can’t believe how fast time has gone. I begin my new full-time RN position next week and cannot be more excited. Almost as excited/ nervous as I was when I had my first banana split this summer.

IMG_7625.jpeg

The foliage here right now is just the best. I love Fall in New England.

IMG_9182.jpeg

I took a break from listening to Running podcasts while I was studying for my Nursing Boards and now it feels so nice to catch back up on my favorites. Also- just running right now feels pretty great. I ran 41 miles this week and hoping to hit another 40+ this week!

IMG_9181.jpeg

Coffee and a good book in the mornings is one of my favorite things. If I had like 5 hours each morning I think it would always be filled with coffee, reading, journaling, yoga, & Running. What would you do with an in-interrupted 5 hours each morning?

IMG_9149.jpeg

Running Home is such a good book so far. There are many passages that resonate with me and why I run. Including this one:

I’m definitely a competitive person and miss those in-person races! I signed up for one next month, but then realized that I work until 7:30 the morning of the race (so that certainly won’t work). I love the thrill of chasing others and those post-race endorphins. The virtual 5k that I did this weekend was fun, but I have a really hard time running really fast on my own!

When they cuddle like this, my heart just melts into a million pieces. I mean- how can you not think that’s adorable?!

Happy Monday! I am FINALLY done with school and just have one more ‘big test’ left until I can officially put those two-little-letters (RN) after my name -> our Nursing Board exam. I’m still waiting for my school to send in the necessary paperwork for me to sign-up to take my exam, but I’ve started studying (& purchased a million different study programs too… ha). Hoping to take it sometime at the beginning of October!

It feels so relieving to not have to study/ do work/ be on a million zoom calls/ commute everywhere every day now. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been this relaxed?!? Also- I think staying at a family friends cabin this past weekend helped a whole lot 💕

IMG_8535.jpeg

We also bought hot cocoas from Dunkin before heading to the lake & that was 1000% the best decision 🙌🏻It was chilly this weekend, but with a warm drink and some warm blankets -> it was really nice.

IMG_8534.jpeg

I was also reminded this weekend that running in the rain is still my favorite thing. I’ll take untangling my hair from a rainy braid anyday over a sweaty ponytail.

IMG_8532.jpeg

Also started planning for our Mini-moon at the end of September to Acadia (!!) and am so excited. We booked a cute little Air BnB right in the park (yay for cooking our own food & sleeping in a nice bed) and will definitely be taking our road bikes. Anyone have any good Acadia suggestions for us? I’ve been once and Alex hasn’t been at all.

IMG_8515.jpeg

Some of you probably saw, but we lost our sweet Stella last weekend. It’s still been really hard to remember she isn’t with us (I keep thinking that it was just a dream), but she lived a very full and spoiled 12 years. I think the cats are missing her too. Woke up to Brady laying on one of her old beds the other morning.

IMG_8514.jpeg

Don’t mind our rug - this is certainly a well-loved Animal playplace around here 😅It’s started to get down into the 40s here at night and those morning runs are feeling pretty GREAT now 🤩I’ve been running less (4 times a week), but biking (2 times a week) & strength training/yoga (5 times a week) more and have had my fastest times on the track yet. Excited to continue to train with our Brooks Run Happy Team for the Twin Cities in Motion 5k! The virtual race will take place the first weekend of October.

Loving that the sunrise is a bit later these days, so we can see it. We got up early Sunday morning to watch the sunrise & it was so peaceful. Definitely putting owning a lake house on my bucket list.
